ION Water
About ION Water
ION Water is the water sports division of ION, Germany's leading action sports brand. Since 1993, ION has built a reputation for technically excellent wetsuits, harnesses, impact vests, and accessories that serve kitesurfers, windsurfers, wing foilers, and SUP paddlers across Europe and beyond. ION Water products are developed in Munich and tested in conditions from the cold North Sea to the warm Mediterranean — ensuring every product performs across the full range of European water sports environments.
ION's wetsuit technology includes proprietary Plasma neoprene with thermal lining, Hot_Stuff fleece insulation for cold-water use, and both back-zip and chest-zip entry systems designed for fast water entry and minimal flushing.
The ION Water Range
ION wetsuits span from 2mm summer shorties to 6/5mm hooded winter suits. The Element series is the mid-range workhorse — offering strong thermal performance and durability at a competitive price. The Seek series adds premium features including front-zip entry, smooth-skin chest panels, and upgraded wrist seals. The Amaze series is designed specifically for women riders.
ION harnesses include the Riot Curv — a waist harness with a pre-shaped carbon composite back panel that distributes load evenly during powered riding. Impact vests, boots, gloves, hoods, and drysuits complete the range.

Expert Advice
A wetsuit that fits properly should feel snug everywhere with no air pockets — especially around the lower back and armpits. If water enters through loose seams, the suit loses most of its insulating ability. We offer in-store fitting to ensure the right size.
Q: Which ION harness for kitesurfing?
A: The ION Riot Curv is our top recommendation — excellent load distribution, comfortable padding, and a secure fit that prevents ride-up during jumps.
Q: How often should I replace my wetsuit?
A: With proper care, an ION wetsuit lasts 2–4 seasons. Replace when seams start leaking consistently or neoprene loses its stretch.
Q: Does ION make drysuits?
A: Yes — ION produces drysuits for extreme cold-water use, typically for winter kitesurfing in northern Europe.
